Evergreen Library and resource center


Wichita Public Library’s Evergreen Branch, 2601 N. Arkansas, is now accepting passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. The Evergreen Branch has been designated an official Passport Acceptance Agency by the U.S. Department of State.


Each individual passport application must be accompanied by a check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of State for all applicable fees. An execution fee of $35 per passport application is payable to Wichita Public Library by cash or debit/credit card.


Residents should call (316) 303-8181 to schedule an appointment at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments can be scheduled between noon-6:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and noon-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. No appointments will be scheduled on Sunday.


Additional locations in Wichita and surrounding areas that can process passports.



Utility Assistance Information Event

Regardless of if your utility account is current or past due, you may be eligible for utility assistance.


Join Evergy, Kansas Gas Service, and City of Wichita Public Works & Utilities on Thursday, March 9th from 9am - 2pm to receive information about the Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP). Other community partners will be onsite including:

  • South Central Kansas Economic Development District (SCKEDD), who will have Kansas Weatherization Program applications

  • United Way, providing BankOn ICT information and VITA tax preparation services

  • DCF Economic & Employment Services Division, LIEAP application information

  • KDHE/KanCare (Medicare)

  • HealthCore Clinic, providing medical, dental and behavioral resources
